Comprehensive Pool Painting Instructions & Disclaimer

Application Instructions:

  1. Preparation:

    • Drain the Pool: Ensure the pool is completely empty and dry before starting the preparation process.
    • Clean the Surface: Remove all debris, algae, grease, or contaminants using a suitable pool cleaner or degreaser. Rinse thoroughly.
    • Repair Surface Damage: Fill cracks, holes, or uneven surfaces with a pool-grade epoxy filler. Allow it to cure fully.
    • Sand the Surface:
      • Sandblast or manually sand the entire pool surface to remove old paint, loose particles, and create a rough texture for proper adhesion.
      • Use a pressure washer to clean off sanding dust, and let the surface dry completely.

  2. Environmental Considerations:

    • Ensure the temperature is between 10°C and 30°C during application.
    • Avoid painting in high humidity, rain, or strong winds.
    • The pool must remain dry during the application and curing process.

  3. Priming (if required):

    • Apply a suitable primer (as per product recommendations) to enhance adhesion for specific surfaces like fiberglass or previously painted pools. Allow it to dry as instructed on the primer label.

  4. Paint Application:

    • Tools Required: Use a roller for large areas and a brush for edges and tight corners.
    • First Coat:
      • Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
      • Apply a thin, even coat of paint starting from the deep end of the pool.
      • Allow the first coat to dry for 24 hours (or as recommended by the manufacturer).
    • Second Coat:
      • Apply the second coat in the same manner, ensuring no pooling or thick patches.
      • Allow the second coat to dry for the recommended duration.

  5. Curing Process:

    • Leave the pool empty for at least 5–7 days to allow the paint to cure fully. Avoid exposure to water, debris, or foot traffic during this period.

  6. Filling the Pool:

    • Slowly fill the pool with water after the curing period to avoid causing stress on the paint layer.

  7. Post-Filling Care:

    • Avoid using the pool vacuum for 3 weeks after filling to allow the paint to stabilize.
    • After 3 weeks, use the pool vacuum on low suction settings to prevent excessive stress on the paint.

  8. Routine Maintenance:

    • Regularly brush and clean the pool with non-abrasive tools to maintain the paint's appearance.
    • Avoid using harsh chemicals or acidic cleaners that can damage the paint.

    • Issues arising from failure to follow the instructions, environmental conditions (e.g., water pH levels), or misuse are beyond PoolPro Finishes’ control and are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

  3. Environmental Factors:

    • PoolPro Finishes will not be held liable for issues caused by environmental factors such as:
      • Excessive UV exposure or direct sunlight.
      • High humidity, rain, or dew during application or curing.

  4. Maintenance Requirements:

    • Proper pool water chemistry must be maintained at all times (pH between 7.2–7.6 and total alkalinity 80–120 ppm). Imbalanced water can accelerate paint wear and reduce longevity.

  5. No Warranty for Non-Compliant Use:

    • The warranty on the product, if applicable, becomes void if:
      • The paint is used on an incompatible surface or without proper priming (if required).
      • Instructions for application or curing are not followed.
      • Cleaning chemicals incompatible with the paint are used.
